AhlulBayt News Agency: Zahra Ershadi, Director General for the Americas at Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has strongly condemned Costa Rica’s baseless accusations against the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC).
In her remarks on Thursday, Ershadi said that the Costa Rican government’s decision, which appears to have been taken under the influence and pressure of the genocidal, occupying Zionist regime and the United States, runs counter to international law and diplomatic norms, warning it could set a “dangerous precedent” in inter-state relations and entail international responsibility for Costa Rica.
She added that such a move amounts to “appeasement of lawlessness” and complicity in actions carried out by the US and Israeli regime, particularly as Iran faces ongoing military attacks.
Ershadi stressed that the IRGC is acting in defense of Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
She added that the campaign by the US and the Israeli regime to force countries into labeling Iranian Armed Forces will not affect the will of the guardians of the homeland to defend Iran’s security.
In an unwise move on Thursday and in total disregard of the United Nations Charter, Costa Rica designated the IRGC, which is a part of the national defense forces of Iran, as a terrorist entity.
